Cobnar Road Play Area 2006 Situation

Friends of Graves Park are pleased to report major progress on the improvements to this part of Graves Park. The area around the Cobnar Road entrance to the park had become badly run down over the years and the recreation facilities were a disgrace, with roundabouts removed and swings missing. But now the area is transformed with new swings, roundabouts and this picnic area

The Living Spaces initiative has provided much of the funding for drastic improvements to the whole area, although many other bodies and individuals also contributed to a scheme devised by Friends of Graves Park, in co-operation with Sheffield Council. Eventually after tree and bulb planting is completed we should see the area transformed, with recreation facilities to meet the needs of young children and teenagers.

Friends of Graves Park along with representatives from the Council intend to hold an opening ceremony in the spring, and bulb and tree planting should go on throughout the year.
